Medicare Rebates
If you’re eligible, you can claim a Medicare rebate for up to 10 individual sessions per calendar year under the Better Access initiative. As a clinical psychologist, sessions with me attract the higher clinical psychology rebate of $149.05 per session.
How to get a referral
To claim a rebate, you’ll need a Mental Health Treatment Plan and a referral from your doctor. Since November 2025, these need to come from:
- your regular GP, usually the one you see most often, or
- the GP clinic you’re enrolled with through MyMedicare
Please book with your usual GP rather than a walk-in or one-off clinic, as they may not be able to provide the plan. If you’re not sure whether you’re enrolled in MyMedicare, ask your GP clinic when you book. You can also be referred by a psychiatrist or paediatrician.
Once you have your referral, you can send it to me by email or fax before your first session, or bring it with you.
rks Psychology does not bulk bill. WorkCover and TAC referrals are accepted.
Private Health Insurance
Depending on your coverage, you may be able to access rebates from your private health insurance provider. Please refer to your health insurer.
